Let's Get Ready To Play!!! Extra Life Game Day 2024
From his favorite seat in Happy Harriet's, Bullywug mentally critiqued the participants in this, a most glorious fight.
That dragonborn was a little stand-offish, but then again finger-waggling was never Bullywug's style. He was more like that kicky fella...Get in there and push your opponent around! There was that drow with his sword again, a very careful, deliberate foe...smart of him to hang back and assess the field. A Lotorian? Haven't seen one of those raccoon type fellas on the field in years! Where did that blast of light come from? Oh, they brought that cleric with them...kinda weird seeing a Stralheim dwarf without a beard, but he seems to be about his business. And arrows?
Leaning forward Bullywug glanced back toward the now empty slave pens to see a gnome, mounted on a bear, firing his bow expertly into the fray. Meticiously ticking off pros and cons of each combatant as only a grizzled old veteran can do, Bullywug knew the sum ending of the fracas, even before Captain Glim got booted into the smoldering hulk that was now the wreckage of the Maidens Razor.
"Harriet, Get the box!" came the croak of Bullywugs voice.
He watched as the proprietor of Happy Harriet's began directing her remaining staff to attend to the wounds and recovery of whatever crew were still clinging to life or possibly able to be brought back to health. One staff member, however, was not at all interested in reinvigorating the injured. He was instead collecting the body parts laying about and gleefully flinging them into a nearby wagon. As he walked near, Bullywug heard Nixgall mutter, "Grong eat well tonight."
Slowly, as the din of battle and adrenaline of the fight slowly wore off, our heroes began to really hear and see what was happening in the aftermath of their plan. Bullywug explained that Captain Grimscale swapped ships with Captain Glim because an important package arrived from the south, and he needed to attend to matters concerning it's contents. The dragonborn they kicked into the flaming ship was not Grimscale, but Captain Glim! Another (more thorough) search of the Captains Quarters revealed a secret compartment containing some of the notes concerning the "important package". Our heroes learned there would be an ominous rendezvous somewhere in Stralheim, and inferred that Grimscale was headed that direction now. After a quick flight and visit to Utgar's family farm, and a visit with Helm Steelgrip, part of the group stayed to rest up and part ventured into Stralheim.
Will the shadowy rendezvous, be intercepted? Who is this supposed traitor in the midst of the Stralheim contingient? Will the group rescue the slaves from the ship headed north? The answers to these and other pressing concerns could be answered in the next installment of Adventures in Teldös.
